What we collect, and why.

Who we are

hirelexi.com and the Lexi assistant are operated by Mac Technologies, LLC, 1424 Everett Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204. Hire Lexi is the name we trade under, and Lexi is the product. For anything about your data, email matt@mattcolin.com.

When you talk to Lexi on this site

Lexi is a conversation that prepares us for a call with you. To do that, we keep:

• Everything you type or say to Lexi, and Lexi’s replies. If you talk instead of typing, what you say is turned into text and saved the same way.
• The details Lexi notes from what you tell it (for example your name, your business, your role and what takes up your week), and the summary it writes at the end.
• Your approximate location (city, region and country), which our hosting provider works out from your connection. We do not store your IP address for this.
• Details about the conversation itself: when it started and finished, the language you chose, how long each part took, and the link you arrived from.
• Whether you pressed the button to book a call. The booking itself happens on Google Calendar’s appointment page.
• A cookie called lexi_session, so you can pick the conversation up again in the same browser. It lasts 30 days.

Research about your business

When you tell Lexi the name of your business or its website, we look up public information about the business so the team arrives at your call prepared: your website, your Google Business Profile, public search results, and public social media and LinkedIn pages. Lexi may show you what it found and ask whether it is you.

When you text or WhatsApp Lexi

Hire Lexi clients can text or WhatsApp Lexi about their own business. The program is described on the Lexi text messaging page. For these conversations we keep:

• Your mobile number, your name, and the business you belong to, so Lexi knows who is writing.
• The messages you send and Lexi’s replies, with the time and whether they came by text or WhatsApp.
• Photos and files you send, so Lexi can read them and answer.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent collected for Lexi text messaging are not shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We do not send marketing messages. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

When you browse the site

• Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics measure how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and where visitors come from.
• We send Google Analytics a few events about Lexi (for example that a conversation was opened or finished, or that the booking button was pressed). These events never include what you wrote or said.

Why we use it

• To prepare for your call, so you are not asked the same things twice.
• To answer the questions you send Lexi about your business, and to send you notices about your account.
• To improve Lexi and this site, including finding the places where people get stuck.

Who handles it for us

These companies process data on our behalf to run the site and Lexi. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We have not yet set an automatic deletion period for conversations and messages. Until we do, we keep what you tell Lexi, the messages you exchange with Lexi, and the research about your business, until you ask us to delete them. Google Analytics keeps its data for 14 months. The lexi_session cookie lasts 30 days.

Asking us to delete it

Email matt@mattcolin.com with the name, business or mobile number you gave Lexi, and we will delete your conversations, messages, notes, summaries and the research about your business. You can also clear the lexi_session cookie in your browser at any time, and most browsers let you block analytics.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who handles it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
